Job Description

The Admissions Director at Imperial Healthcare Center is a crucial role within the healthcare facility, responsible for ensuring smooth admissions processes while cultivating strong relationships with the community and the hospital. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in healthcare customer service is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.

  • Proficiency in computer skills.

  • Solid knowledge of reimbursement processes.

  • Good physical and mental health.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

REPORTING:

The Admissions Director reports directly to the Administrator.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist in developing and implementing facility marketing strategies.

  • Serve as the primary contact between the facility and hospital discharge planners.

  • Communicate with referral sources.

  • Build relationships to identify unmet healthcare needs in the community and collaborate with the administrator to address those needs.

  • Complete necessary paperwork to ensure appropriate admissions to the facility.

  • Lead team meetings regarding admissions and census.

  • Order and maintain adequate marketing materials and ensure that information packets are available.

  • Prepare daily census reports.

  • Complete monthly and quarterly reports as assigned.

  • Handle inquiries from hospitals and the community.

  • Screen potential admissions:

    • Establish payer source.

    • Obtain authorization as necessary.

    • Determine Medicare eligibility.

    • Assess level of care for appropriate placement.

  • Process admissions:

    • Notify nursing and relevant staff of new admissions.

    • Create resident identification bracelets.

    • Provide charts to the appropriate nursing station.

    • Complete admission contracts with residents or their responsible parties.

  • Maintain public relations with referral sources.

  • Foster ongoing internal public relations with residents and their families post-admission.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
