Work Environment

This position is located onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Camas, where clinical excellence is complemented by a welcoming environment. The full-time schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured work-life balance. The hospital is equipped with advanced technology and resources, ensuring that you have the tools necessary to provide effective treatments and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-operative wound care, including education and management of dressing changes, sutures, and the application of splints or braces as directed by the attending physician.
• Collaborate actively with supervising physicians to formulate and execute individualized plans of care for patients, ensuring interventions are tailored to their specific needs.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of concussions using the most current best practices, aiding in the swift recovery of athletes and patients.
• Efficiently execute protocol orders and review diagnostic studies under physician supervision, ensuring that all actions align with treatment goals.
• Document all evaluations, treatments, and supply interactions within our Electronic Health Record system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Demonstrate expertise in the domains of athletic training, including injury prevention, clinical assessment, emergency care, treatment, rehabilitation, and professional health practices.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to foster an environment of trust and clarity.
• Identify opportunities to enhance departmental protocols and procedures, ensuring continual improvement in patient care processes.
• Implement initiatives related to patient safety, compliance, and staff development, contributing to a culture of excellence within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Athletic Trainer at Sports Plus PT, you will work primarily with orthopedic patients, including athletes recovering from sports injuries, post-surgical patients, and those seeking rehabilitation after musculoskeletal issues. Your ability to build rapport and address the specific needs of these patients will play a crucial role in their recovery journey and overall satisfaction with our services.

Qualifications

• An earned Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology, or a related field.
• Certification from the Board of Certification (BOC) and a current athletic trainer license to practice in the state of Washington.
• Hands-on experience with the administration of injection techniques and the fitting of orthopedic devices such as braces, boots, and splints.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills that facilitate collaboration and positive relationships within a decentralized organization.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical athletic training setting, particularly in an orthopedic environment.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and experience in documenting evaluation and treatment processes accurately.
• Knowledge of physical therapy modalities and equipment relevant to orthopedic care.

Compensation and Benefits
