Full-Time Orthopedic Athletic Trainer

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-operative wound care, including sutures removal and dressing changes, ensuring optimal healing for post-surgical patients under physician directives.
• Partner with supervising physicians to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
• Utilize current best practices for concussion evaluation and management, maintaining a focus on patient safety and recovery protocols.
• Execute protocol orders with accuracy, reviewing necessary diagnostic studies and ensuring patients' treatment aligns with the guidelines established by the medical team.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and supply usage in our Electronic Health Record systems, ensuring compliance and integrity in patient care records.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of key domains of athletic training, including injury prevention, clinical evaluation, emergency care procedures, and rehabilitation methodologies.
• Effectively communicate with patients, families, healthcare teams, and administrative staff to ensure collaborative care and enhance patient experience.
• Identify opportunities to develop or modify treatment protocols and procedures specifically regarding orthopedic patients and departmental practices, fostering continuous improvement.
• Implement clinic initiatives focusing on patient safety, compliance with healthcare regulations, and staff development, contributing to overall clinic efficiency and effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role, you will primarily serve post-surgical patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, including joint replacements, fractures, and other musculoskeletal injuries. You will engage with individuals at various stages of recovery, providing tailored support and rehabilitation strategies that promote effective healing and prevent re-injury. Your experience and insights will play a significant role in enhancing the clinic's integrative approach to patient wellness.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or a related field is required.
• Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) is essential, along with a valid license to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Oregon.
• Demonstrated skills in the administration of essential treatment techniques, such as injections, fitting braces, and utilizing physical therapy equipment.
• Strong interpersonal abilities with a focus on developing relationships and fostering collaboration with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a clinical setting, preferably in orthopedics or related fields.
• Experience with electronic health records systems and the documentation of treatment protocols.
• Proficiency in knowledge of evidence-based practices in athletic training and rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 – $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
