Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Billing and EHR Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a well-organized, detail- oriented professional with significant experience processing and submitting billing, maintaining client demographic and payor information in the electronic health record. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team managing and organizing information, processing and managing claims, and reconciling billing. This position operates under a contract with Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health and staff must meet both County and organization requirements.

The current opening supports a multidisciplinary team that provides mental health services. The selected candidate will process and submit billing for reimbursement from Medi-Cal, Medicare, and private insurance, and other sources; complete ongoing reconciliation of billing; obtain all information related to insurance/payment responsibility; maintain records and billing in the electronic health record, including maintaining updated client information and support the intake process and processing referrals for our Housing Supportive Services contract. The contracts program goal is to assist tenants with maintaining their housing and assist with decreasing the use of acute psychiatric services, incarceration, justice and child welfare involvement, homelessness, co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues, education problems, and other risky behaviors. Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to high school diploma or GED.
Three (3) years experience with Medi-Cal billing and claims.
License or Certification
Successfully complete reference checks and background investigation to include Live Scan Fingerprinting;
Meet qualifications to participate in a Short-Doyle program;
Eligible for credentialing;
All providers are required to have a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number prior to their first day of employment and maintain a valid NPI throughout the duration of their tenure in this role;
Must successfully complete all required agency training indicated for this position.
