Job Description

Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst

GENERAL FUNCTION:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will serve as the supervisor for all autism therapy and ABA services for the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. The BCBA will conduct functional behavioral analysis, generate related behavioral plans, and ensure the effective implementation of all school treatment and programming for the students. As a primary function, the BCBA is responsible for the training and supervision of direct care therapists to ensure effective implementation of the behavioral plan, as well as all relevant policies and procedures. The BCBA is responsible for adhering to professional and legal requirements and principles as well as demonstrating sound professional judgment at all times. Collaboration with family, caregivers, and all service providers is necessary to ensure continuity of care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent must have the competencies, skills and proven leadership ability to successfully carry out the Association’s mission, goals and vision for serving the community. Other important competencies of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst include the following:
  1. Provide direct instruction, training, and support to students and family members during regularly scheduled school and community based visits.
  2. Initiate contact with new referrals and/or referral sources in a timely manner.
  3. Effectively manage caseload, accurately prepare and submit all required documentation in a timely manner. Provide program data, reports and statistics as required for assigned programs.
  4. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all staff and contractors for autism and ABA services.
  5. Review and evaluate the performance of the direct care therapist staff members to ensure the proper implementation of treatment plan and ensure high quality program delivery.
  6. Ensure all treatment methodologies are evidence based and reflect the most recent research findings.
  7. Conduct functional behavior assessments and recommend positive behavior supports for children with Autism Spectrum and other related disorders.
  8. Monitor and provide support for staff in use of ABA strategies and procedures.
  9. Collaborate with families in the development of behavior support strategies.
  10. Work closely with the Behavior Specialists in their provision of direct services, and provide the needed resources and guidance to assist clients, parents, and Behavior Specialists in the development and implementation of behavior protocols.
  11. Duties are performed primarily in clients’ homes in the presence of the parent, caregivers, demonstrating the YMCA character traits of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
  12. Assist in the design, development and implementation of the budgets related to the program.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  1. Masters degree in Psychology or Masters in Education with an emphasis on Special Needs is preferred.
  2. Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification is required
  3. Licensed with Behavioral background.
  4. Experience in evaluation and treatment in preschool setting for autism and spectrum disorder is preferred.
  5. Must possess current CPR, First Aid, Oxygen and AED certifications.

2. Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in order to maintain harmonious
relationships with staff members, volunteers, program participants and the general public.
3. Ability to handle multiple tasks and be creative, motivated, self-starter with the ability to lead and motivate
others.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an effective team.

The incumbent must have the ability to transport equipment, materials and supplies to schools. Frequent use of keyboard; occasional sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending or squatting.
The incumbent is regularly required to work under pressure and or to work rapidly to meet deadlines, to reason and solve problems, make sound judgment and decisions and be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to evaluate and solve complex problems. Frequent decision-making and concentration; frequent public and/or coworker contact; occasional working alone. Hearing/Talking: frequent hearing and talking, in person and on the phone.
More than 90% of time is spent indoors. The condition of the air is normal/average air conditioned/ventilated. The noise level is normal to loud within an active YMCA program environment.
