Peak Health Systems Corporation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team in Alpharetta, Georgia. The COTA will spend time working in various rehabilitation settings within the hospital, focusing on both inpatient and outpatient therapy.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to design and implement customized treatment plans based on each patient’s unique needs and therapeutic goals.
• Provide hands-on support to patients, assisting them with exercises, therapeutic activities, and activities of daily living (ADLs) to foster skills, mobility, and independence.
• Continually assess and document patient progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary and effectively communicating updates to Occupational Therapists and other healthcare team members.
• Maintain thorough and accurate treatment records to ensure continuity of care and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and exercises they can practice at home to support ongoing recovery and enhance independence.
• Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines concerning patient privacy and safety while promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgery, those managing chronic conditions, as well as elderly patients in need of rehabilitative services. Understanding patient history and personalizing therapy approaches are essential to this role, as it directly impacts the rehabilitation outcomes and overall quality of life for our patients.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program and current state certification as a COTA.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, ensuring a compassionate approach to therapy.
• A strong foundation in patient care principles with an emphasis on promoting recovery and autonomy.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly in documenting patient progress and treatment activities.
• Knowledge of therapeutic equipment and modalities, including assistive devices and adaptive technology.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for patient documentation and communication.
• Experience in geriatric rehabilitation or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
