About the job…

Star Sleep & Wellness is growing! We have 6 full time locations in Frisco, Denton, Irving Dallas, McKinney & Mansfield. As we expand further, we are looking for dedicated, full-time nurse practitioners and/or physicians assistants to join our practice and support our mission of saving lives, healing relationships, and extending careers specifically in our Dallas office. You would work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Please Note: While the position is based in Dallas you may have to provide coverage in our other offices.

Some responsibilities of our advanced practice providers:

  • Embody our Culture Guide. Some of the key points are listed and our Culture Guide is the heart of our practice.
  • Follow all company policies and protocols in the normal course of business.
  • Possess sound medical decision making abilities.
  • Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests (such as polysomnography or home sleep testing), and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.
  • Develop competency in the treatment of obstructive and central sleep apnea (such as oral appliances and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation devices), narcolepsy, insomnia, and restless leg syndrome.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional and insurance requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records in EMR and adhere to all HIPAA protocols.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.

Additional qualifications:

  • Experience in a related field, such as sleep medicine, internal medicine, or pulmonology is preferred.
  • No current or pending malpractice lawsuits
  • Active state license in good standing
  • Active DEA Certificate, preferred, but not required
  • Active Controlled Substance Registration
  • Comfortable around computers, since you will be using one all the time.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and team-oriented behavior; have mutual respect for management and team members; partner with team members to create an exceptional experience for each and every patient. Be early, dependable, goal oriented, and able to receive constructive coaching.
  • Reliable transportation, and willingness to work in multiple locations.
