Job Description

Salary:

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the incoming requests from patients for DME, coordinating orders, receipt, distribution and billing of the products dispensed at the Long-Term Care Pharmacy.


Essential Job Functions:

  • All employees are responsible for a basic knowledge of the employee handbook, along with the mission and vision of Towncrest Pharmacy, and must conduct themselves with behavior that supports these values
  • All employees are responsible for making the most of their working time and reach maximum potential by being on time for their scheduled shifts, checking voicemails/emails as appropriate and completing deadlines in a timely manner
  • Receives and processes patient product requests and new physician orders
  • Orders necessary products
  • Manages in-store DME inventory
  • Aggregates and obtains necessary documentation for successful billing
  • Manages questions about billing of DME
  • Maintain electronic and paper charts for patients
  • All employees are expected to escalate issues as necessary
  • All employees must conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner as outlined in Towncrests code of ethics and conduct, as found in the policy book
  • All employees will specifically be trained on their job duties, however; other mandatory trainings may be deemed appropriate by management for one or all members of the team
  • Other projects and/or duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening
  • Great customer service skills, including interpersonal conversation, patience and empathy

  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices
  • Organization, time management and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of patient or customer information
  • Effective computer skills to use bookkeeping and account management software in a timely and efficient manner
  • Understanding of industry-specific policies, such as HIPAA regulations

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time efficiently

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience in administrative support or general bookkeeping
  • Skilled in business communication and problem-solving
    Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to identify areas for process improvement and formulate actionable implementation plans
  • Prior knowledge of medical billing and coding is preferred but not required

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Language Requirements:

The primary language of Towncrest Pharmacy is English. Excellent communication skills are defined as the ability to:

  • Read, write, speak and understand English
  • Actively listen for total comprehension
  • Ask questions that enhance the understanding of a certain topic
  • Relay information and/or instruction in a descriptive and understandable fashion in both written and verbal forms

Mathematical Requirements:

Basic accounting knowledge is required, as well as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills to the general degree.

Reasoning Ability Requirements:

Professional-level, reasoning abilities are necessary to process complex information and prioritize deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be necessary from time to time. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, view a computer monitor, and type (up to 8 hours a day).

Employment Status:

Exempt: This role is exempt which means it is excluded from minimum wage, overtime regulations, and other rights and protections afforded nonexempt employees.


Full Time: Full-Time employees are defined as working at least 30 hours per week, however; this position requires 40 hours worked within a regular workweek. Occasionally, time over 40 hours may be necessary in order to meet the requirements of the position.


Schedule Expectations:

Towncrest Pharmacys normal hours of operation are from Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:30-12pm.


Supervision Requirements

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
