Job Title: Full-Time Dental Assistant – Hospital-Affiliated Dental Clinic (Arizona)

Location: Phoenix , Arizona

Job Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM

Compensation: $50,000.00 - $70,000 per year + benefits 

As a Dental Assistant at our hospital, you will be responsible for assisting the dental team in providing efficient and high-quality dental care. You will support the dentist during exams and procedures, prepare patients for treatments, sterilize equipment, maintain patient records, and ensure that the clinic runs smoothly. Your attention to detail and ability to put patients at ease will make you a key member of our team.

Job Duties:

  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for dental treatments by ensuring their comfort and explaining procedures, as needed.
  • Assisting the Dentist: Support the dentist during examinations and procedures by handing instruments, taking x-rays, and providing any other necessary assistance.
  • Sterilization & Infection Control: Clean and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection control procedures. Maintain a sterile and safe environment.
  • Dental Radiographs: Take dental x-rays and develop them, ensuring proper techniques and safety measures are followed.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately completed.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with post-procedure instructions and educate them on oral health practices, including brushing, flossing, and proper oral hygiene habits.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of dental supplies and ensure the clinic is stocked with necessary materials.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dentist and other dental professionals to provide the best possible care and create a positive experience for our patients.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all hospital and dental clinic policies, as well as state and federal regulations regarding patient care, privacy, and safety.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Dental Assisting or a related field is preferred.
  • Current Dental Assistant Certification (CDA) or equivalent (X-ray certification is a must).
  • 1+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a hospital, clinic, or private practice setting.
  • Proficient in taking dental radiographs (x-rays) and familiar with infection control protocols.
  • Knowledgeable about dental procedures, terminology, and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and the dental team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • BLS/CPR certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (Electronic Health Records) and dental software is an advantage.
  • Ability to stay calm and professional in fast-paced and sometimes stressful situations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
