Job Description

Full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist Needed to Join Our Outpatient Psychiatric MD Practice in Edgewood, MD

Our dynamic psychiatric office is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team of mental health experts. We specialize in providing comprehensive care for individuals with various mental health conditions, including anxiety, mood, personality, and trauma-related disorders. You will have the opportunity to positively impact our patients’ lives by delivering high-quality mental health services within our supportive and collaborative environment.

Sign-on bonus available.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Occasional evening shifts may be required.

  • Some flexibility in scheduling may be necessary to accommodate patient needs.

Salary:

$75,000 to $100,000 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate patients' psychological well-being and determine appropriate treatment approaches.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patients' specific needs and diagnoses.

  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions using various modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy.

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to address patients' emotional concerns, promote personal growth, and enhance coping skills.

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care for patients.

  • Assist in crisis intervention and offer support during mental health emergencies.

  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development activities.

  • Stay up to date with current research, best practices, and relevant regulations in the field of mental health therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid license as an LCSW-C, LCPC, LMFT, LCMFT, or PsyD in the state.

  • Two years of post-licensure experience preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and trauma-informed care.

  • Proven ability to conduct thorough mental health assessments, make accurate diagnoses, and develop effective treatment plans.

  • Experience in delivering individual and group therapy using a variety of therapeutic approaches.

  • Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships.

  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications.

  • Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards.
