Job Purpose:
- The Denial Billing Support Specialist at Behavioral Health Services Inc is responsible for managing and resolving billing denials to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for services rendered. This role involves analyzing denial trends, facilitating communication between departments, and implementing strategies to minimize future denials, thereby supporting the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze denied claims to identify root causes and trends.
- Collaborate with billing and coding teams to resolve denials efficiently.
- Communicate with insurance companies to appeal and overturn denied claims.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce future denials and improve billing processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of denial resolutions and appeals.
- Provide training and support to staff on denial management and prevention techniques.
- Prepare and present reports on denial rates and resolution outcomes to management.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and changes in billing practices.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management.
- Experience with denial management and resolution in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with behavioral health services billing processes is highly desirable.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of medical billing codes, insurance claims processing, and payer requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Proficient in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with insurance companies and healthcare providers.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
