Key Responsibilities

As a Dental Assistant at Gums & Grins Dental Services, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Setting up dental operatories by preparing necessary instruments and materials to support various treatment procedures.
• Taking and developing dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Providing patients with clear and comprehensive instructions for oral care following treatment procedures, ensuring all questions are addressed.
• Maintaining stocked and sterile operatories to facilitate efficient patient flow and compliance with safety standards.
• Performing routine maintenance on dental equipment, diagnosing issues, and ensuring readiness for use.
• Taking impressions of patients' teeth to create study casts for treatment planning.
• Assisting dentists with procedures by anticipating needs and being proactive in chairside support.
• Taking part in the orientation and training of new staff to promote a collaborative team approach.
• Ensuring all patient records are accurately prepared and updated, documenting the types of services performed and observations made.
• Actively participating in department and organization-wide meetings to contribute to quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with the ability to provide proof.
• At least one year of paid professional dental assisting experience is mandatory.
• Certification in Radiation Health and Safety and Infection Control examinations.
• A valid X-Ray Certificate and current CPR certification are essential.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience is required, candidates with additional training or certifications in dental specialties will be favored. Familiarity with patient management software and electronic health record systems will also be an advantage, enhancing your ability to perform efficiently in our office.

Compensation and Benefits

Gums & Grins Dental Services offers a competitive salary range of USD 40,000 – 60,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
