Work Environment

The role will be physically demanding and requires working onsite in our outpatient office located in beautiful Gainesville, Florida. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms, ensuring a hygienic and efficient environment for all dental procedures.
• Assist dentists during various procedures by effectively passing instruments, managing suction, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatments.
• Support the production and interpretation of radiographs (X-rays), maintaining precise patient records in accordance with care protocols.
• Monitor and assist patients as they move and are positioned for dental treatments, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Prepare and maintain inventory levels of dental supplies and materials, ensuring we are always ready for a full day of patient care.
• Open and close the dental clinic while adhering to established protocols for setup, shutdown, and security procedures.
• Maintain a deep understanding of infection control practices to ensure a sterile clinical environment.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide post-treatment care instructions to facilitate their recovery.
• Communicate effectively with both patients and dental team members to promote clear understanding of treatment plans and procedures.
• Utilize dental software and electronic health records (EHR) systems to manage patient information efficiently.
• Recognize and respond promptly to emergency situations, ensuring that patient safety remains a top priority.
• Conduct other duties as assigned by the dental team, contributing to the overall success of operations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• A current Dental Assistant registration with the State Board of Dental Examiners.
• Completion of a Heartsaver CPR course within 90 days of hire.
• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; completion of a formal dental assistant training program is preferred.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to engage effectively with patients and dental team members.
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills, ensuring that our practice runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Ability to multitask and manage a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a dental assistant in a clinical setting is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 40,000 to 60,000 annually, based on experience.
