Key Responsibilities

As a Dental Assistant at The Gentle Dentists, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Thoroughly cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing dental instruments and treatment rooms to ensure a world-class environment for dental procedures.
• Assisting dentists during a range of procedures by anticipating their needs—passing instruments, providing suction, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Supporting the acquisition of radiographs (X-rays) and accurately documenting patient records, helping facilitate quick decisions regarding treatment.
• Monitoring patient movement and positioning during procedures, ensuring procedural safety and patient comfort.
• Maintaining an adequate stock of supplies and instruments, ensuring that everything needed for treatments is readily available.
• Opening and closing the clinic, following established procedures for setup and shutdown to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Implementing stringent infection control protocols to uphold cleanliness and safety in the treatment environment.
• Educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and care instructions post-treatment, empowering them to take charge of their dental health.
• Effectively communicating with both patients and team members, ensuring clarity and cohesion in workflows.
• Demonstrating proficiency in dental software and electronic health record (EHR) systems to enhance patient management and documentation.
• Quickly recognizing and responding to emergencies with the appropriate protocols during dental procedures.
• Completing additional duties as directed by the dental team, embracing the variety that comes with the role.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant registration with the State Board of Dental Examiners.
• Certification in Heartsaver CPR within 90 days of hire.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 40,000 to 60,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skillset.
