Speech-Language Pathologist - Onsite at School Setting

This full-time position requires the SLP to work onsite within a school environment, focusing on improving the communication skills of students with diverse needs. Work Environment

The SLP position is based onsite at a school in North Brunswick, NJ, where you will interact daily with students, educators, and families. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in students.
• Develop tailored therapy plans that adhere to best practices and align with the individual educational objectives of each student.
• Implement interactive therapy sessions that utilize play-based and evidence-based techniques to engage students effectively.
• Provide direct therapy services within the school setting as well as offer recommendations for communication strategies that can be utilized across various settings.
• Educate caregivers, teachers, and family members about effective communication strategies, safe swallowing techniques, and how to support students outside of therapy sessions.
• Document patient progress meticulously and adjust treatment plans regularly based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
• Adhere to all professional ethical standards and regulatory guidelines to ensure the highest quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will serve a diverse population of students ranging from preschool to high school, each with unique challenges that require personalized therapy approaches. You will work with students who may have developmental delays, speech delays, language impairments, and swallowing difficulties. Your efforts will significantly contribute to their academic success and social integration, helping them improve their overall communication capabilities.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
• An active Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the state of New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience, particularly in a school or pediatric setting.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to a patient-centered approach.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and techniques.
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the special education process.
• Background in developing and implementing group therapy sessions and interventions.

Compensation and Benefits
