Stepping Evolution Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dynamic team in Newport, Oregon. In this full-time position, you will work on-site at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, playing a crucial role in helping our residents improve their abilities to communicate, swallow, and engage with their environment. Your expertise will directly impact their quality of life, making every interaction meaningful.

As a Speech-Language Pathologist at our rehabilitation facility, you will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment. The setting is designed to promote healing and rehabilitation, featuring modern therapy equipment and resources that facilitate effective interventions. You will typically work Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, managing a patient load of approximately seven residents daily, equating to 35 visits per week. Your work will take place directly with residents in private rooms and therapy areas equipped for individual treatment sessions.
In your role, you will specifically focus on older adults in a rehabilitation setting who may be experiencing various communication disorders, cognitive impairments, or swallowing difficulties stemming from age-related conditions, strokes, brain injuries, or neurological disorders. Understanding the unique challenges faced by this population will be key in formulating effective treatment strategies.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have at least two years of clinical experience in speech-language pathology, specifically working with senior populations. Familiarity with swallowing evaluations and cognitive communication interventions will be advantageous in this role. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively are critical to success.
