Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ speech and language abilities, utilizing standardized testing materials and observational methods.
• Design and implement customized treatment plans to improve communication skills based on individual patient needs and goals.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including play-based therapy for children and cognitive-linguistic strategies for adults, to enhance patient engagement and outcomes.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists and physicians, to create an integrated care plan that addresses all aspects of patient health.
• Educate patients and their families on effective communication strategies to promote practice at home and increase therapy effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with advancements in speech therapy practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically focuses on a diverse patient population, including infants and young children with speech delays or disorders and adults recovering from neurological impairments. Your ability to connect and build rapport with patients will be crucial in fostering trust and promoting progress in their communication skills. You will also engage with family members, guiding them on how to support their loved ones' speech and language development outside of therapy sessions.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Active state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in Nevada.
• Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or the equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary treatment techniques and relevant therapeutic equipment.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• The ability to demonstrate both independent and team-based work capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting focusing on speech therapy is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with early intervention practices and strategies for reinforcing communication in young children is a plus.
• Experience with teletherapy platforms for remote patient engagement can be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
