Work Environment

The work setting is vibrant and client-focused, emphasizing teamwork and holistic patient care. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including occupational and physical therapists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address the varied needs of our residents. The center operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ communication and swallowing capabilities to develop tailored therapy plans that align with their individual goals.
• Implement cutting-edge speech and language interventions using evidence-based practices, ensuring that all techniques are suitable for the specific challenges faced by clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines, sharing insights and observations, to formulate integrated treatment approaches and provide holistic care.
• Monitor each resident’s progress meticulously, adapting therapeutic strategies as necessary based on ongoing assessments and feedback from clients and their families.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of all evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engage in regular professional development activities to stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology and therapeutic methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clientele at Grafton’s Early Interventions Center consists primarily of individuals who require support in communication and eating/safety skills. This may include children with developmental delays, adults recovering from strokes, and individuals with various neurological conditions. Every interaction requires a compassionate and patient-centered approach, as you will be working one-on-one or in small groups to facilitate meaningful conversations and enhance swallowing techniques.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology is mandatory.
• Possession of a current Oregon state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, particularly in rehabilitation or related areas.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively engage with clients, their families, and the healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within an integrated treatment team is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with therapeutic instruments, software for documentation management, and telehealth platforms.
• Proficiency in culturally competent care, demonstrating an understanding of the diverse backgrounds of clients.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is competitive, offering $75,000 to $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
