Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' speech and language abilities, utilizing standardized tests and clinical observation to establish baselines.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of each patient.
• Apply therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices to address various communication disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, and cognitive-linguistic skills.
• Educate patients and their families about communication strategies and provide them with resources to facilitate improvement outside of therapy sessions.
• Monitor and document patients' progress regularly in compliance with facility policies and healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for shared patients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in speech-language pathology and participate in ongoing training and education.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse population, including children with developmental delays, adults recovering from strokes, and elderly patients facing age-related communication challenges. Your ability to adapt your communication style and therapeutic approaches to fit each individual's needs will be crucial in achieving positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current and active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• In-depth knowledge of various treatment techniques and the use of therapeutic tools relevant to speech therapy.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build strong rapport with patients and their families.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting is highly preferred, although not mandatory.
• Experience with a breadth of age ranges, including pediatrics and geriatrics, will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
