Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art Early Intervention Center in Cornelius, Oregon. Our working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a structured yet supportive work-life balance. You will be joining a warm, professional team dedicated to empowering individuals through innovative care practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments for speech, language, and swallowing disorders, utilizing a range of standardized tests and clinical evaluations.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans focused on enhancing communication skills, articulation, voice modulation, and fluency.
• Provide direct therapeutic interventions, helping patients improve their speech production, comprehension, and cognitive-linguistic abilities through targeted exercises and activities.
• Deliver specialized swallowing therapy and feeding interventions, employing strategies for patients experiencing dysphagia to ensure safe and effective swallowing.
• Educate patients and their families on effective communication strategies, providing tailored at-home exercises and resources for ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and family caregivers to create a cohesive care plan for each patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, adhering to both healthcare standards and HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
• Track and monitor patient progress regularly, adapting therapy plans as necessary to accommodate changing needs and optimize outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our services cater to patients of all ages, from early childhood assessments for developmental speech delays to adult therapeutic interventions for cognitive-linguistic challenges. You will work with a diverse patient population, including those recovering from stroke, brain injury, or other conditions impacting communication and swallowing. Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
• An active Speech-Language Pathologist license in Oregon is essential for practice.
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred but not mandatory.
• 1-2 years of experience in an outpatient clinical environment is favored.
• Strong proficiency in contemporary speech, language, voice, and swallowing therapy techniques.
• Excellent communication skills, with a deep sense of empathy and a focus on patient engagement.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation practices.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in pediatric therapy, geriatric population handling, or specialized dysphagia management will be given priority. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and advanced therapeutic techniques is highly desirable.
