Work Environment

As a Speech-Language Pathologist within our early intervention center, you will be part of a dedicated onsite team that values communication, teamwork, and continuous learning. The center operates from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, promoting a balanced work-life experience while allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional care. Our facility is well-equipped with the latest tools and resources to support your clinical practice, ensuring you have everything you need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders among residents.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at enhancing communication abilities, swallowing function, and cognitive skills, keeping in mind each resident’s personal goals and preferences.
• Provide direct therapy to residents experiencing various conditions such as aphasia, dysphagia, cognitive decline, and voice disorders.
• Engage residents, caregivers, and staff in educational initiatives that promote effective communication strategies and swallowing safety to ensure a supportive living environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing staff and physicians, to provide integrated care that addresses the multifaceted needs of our residents.
• Document all therapeutic interventions and assessments accurately and promptly, adhering to state and federal regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on the geriatric population within our assisted living community. You will work closely with older adults who may be experiencing age-related challenges affecting their communication and swallowing abilities. Your expertise will not only aid in improving their quality of life but will also empower them to engage actively in social interactions and daily activities.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required, with a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
• An active Oregon SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Certification in dysphagia therapy is highly desirable, along with experience in cognitive-communication therapy.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish a trusting rapport with residents and their families.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, preferably within a geriatric or residential care setting.
• Experience in developing and implementing therapeutic strategies for cases involving complex communication and swallowing disorders.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with an employer match.
