Work Environment

Located in Gresham, Oregon, this full-time position offers a stable work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. As an onsite role within a school facility, you will engage with a diverse population of seniors, providing services that empower them to communicate effectively and navigate their daily lives with confidence. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in residents.
• Design dynamic treatment plans customized to meet the specific needs of each resident, ensuring they receive the best care possible.
• Deliver targeted therapy interventions for conditions such as aphasia, dysphagia, cognitive impairments, and voice disorders.
• Provide educational support and resources to residents, caregivers, and staff, focusing on effective strategies to enhance communication and ensure swallowing safety.
• Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, and physicians to create a holistic care plan that addresses the multifaceted needs of residents.
• Maintain precise and timely documentation of therapy progress according to state and federal regulations, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on geriatric residents residing in an assisted living community. You will engage directly with seniors experiencing diverse challenges, from communication impairments stemming from strokes or neurodegenerative diseases to swallowing difficulties that impact their nutritional intake and overall health. Your work will not only enhance their communication capabilities but also foster a greater sense of independence and well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required; possessing the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
• Active Oregon SLP license, or eligibility to obtain.
• Proficiency in the field of dysphagia therapy and experience with cognitive-communication interventions will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrable experience in working with older adult populations is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively establish rapport with residents and their families while promoting a patient-centric approach to care.
• A genuine passion for collaborating with a diverse team toward improved patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in an assisted living or long-term care setting with geriatric clients.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms to document and deliver interventions.
• Previous participation in interdisciplinary team meetings is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Employees are eligible for a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions.
