Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet patients and visitors warmly, creating an inviting atmosphere while ensuring the initial moments of their visit are as pleasant as possible.
- Accurately register patients by collecting and verifying personal and insurance details, ensuring all information entered into our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is correct and up-to-date.
- Effectively manage appointment scheduling, confirming patient visits and coordinating with medical staff to optimize the appointment calendar and minimize wait times.
- Handle incoming calls with professionalism, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately, while providing accurate information about services and operational hours.
- Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers, both within our network and externally, facilitating seamless continuity of care.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary pre-authorizations to ensure patients receive the services they need without unnecessary delays.
- Collect co-payments and handle patient transactions, ensuring accuracy in all financial processes to uphold the clinic’s financial integrity.
- Maintain electronic medical records (EMRs), ensuring not only data integrity and accuracy but also compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate closely with medical staff to streamline patient flow and improve operational efficiency within the clinic, taking proactive steps to solve any emerging issues.
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, faxing, and organizing documents, ensuring that office operations run smoothly and effectively.
