Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health, strengths, and specific needs, ensuring individualized attention and care plans.
• Develop tailored treatment plans that align with assessment findings, actively engaging clients in the goal-setting process.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy utilizing evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy.
• Regularly monitor and document clients’ progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on their evolving needs.
• Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to integrate mental health care with other medical services effectively.
• Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to appropriate mental health services and relevant community resources, enhancing their support network.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards by maintaining confidentiality and practicing in accordance with state licensing boards and professional associations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily involve working with a wide range of clients experiencing mood disorders, relationship issues, and the complexities of modern life. The diverse clientele includes individuals seeking support for anxiety, depression, family conflicts, and other mental health challenges. This position is ideal for therapists passionate about fostering resilience and helping clients navigate their emotional landscapes through tailored interventions.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
• You must hold a current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities related to mood disorders.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to empathetic client care.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience with a focus on mood disorders is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in CBT and DBT with a proven track record of successful client outcomes.
• Experience working collaboratively within healthcare teams, particularly with psychiatrists and case managers, to provide integrated care.

• The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $105,000, contingent upon your experience and caseload.
