Work Schedule: The work schedule for LPNs is typically organized in shifts to ensure 24/7 patient care. Shifts may include:
Morning Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Night Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Full-time LPNs generally work five shifts per week, totaling 36 to 40 hours. Part-time positions range from two to four shifts per week, totaling 20 to 30 hours. Salary: $60,000 and $80,000 per year Responsibilities:
Providing direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians.
Administering medications and treatments as prescribed and documenting their effects.
Monitoring patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
Assisting with patient assessments, including gathering and recording patient information.
Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Assisting with patient education, providing information on medications, procedures, and self-care.
Documenting patient observations, interactions, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintaining a clean and safe patient environment, following infection control protocols.
Assisting with patient mobility and transfers, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Providing emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
Current and active licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the desired state.
