Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the underlying issues affecting clients’ mental health and well-being.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that are dynamic, evidence-based, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic methodologies, staying abreast of the latest trends in mental health practices to ensure optimal care.
• Provide supportive counseling with a focus on building trust and rapport, essential for effective therapeutic relationships.
• Coordinate with other mental health professionals to refer patients when necessary, ensuring a holistic approach to their care.
• Maintain detailed and confidential client records in compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to effective treatment outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adults facing a myriad of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders. Understanding the specific cultural, social, and economic contexts of our diverse client base in Newark will be crucial in providing effective support. Your ability to empathize and connect with individuals from various backgrounds will be key to fostering a collaborative therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey.
• Proven ability to establish rapport with clients, addressing their concerns in a safe and non-judgmental manner.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, essential for effective client interaction and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to customize treatment approaches based on individual assessments and client feedback.
• Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and seek supervision as necessary.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in outpatient settings or community mental health environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and ability to engage clients effectively through remote counseling.
• Experience with specific therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 75,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience, and is designed to reflect your expertise and the value you bring to our team.
