The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:

NP/PA

FT outpatient position available (40 hours), Primarily Days, Monday thru Friday8-hour shifts (No Holiday or Call)

Opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in a fast paced, clinically challenging environment. Primary responsibilities include working collaboratively with transplant surgery/hepatology and a multidisciplinary care team to provide care for post-liver transplant recipients. Primary responsibilities include treatment of post-transplant complications and disease recurrence, ordering and reviewing testing, and management of immunosuppression. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with transplant hepatology and surgery. Candidate will be cross trained in hepatobiliary and pre transplant surgery providing comprehensive H&Ps, review of surgical risks, pre-op orders, education, post-surgical follow up, and care coordination. Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working in a dynamic multidisciplinary setting. Attendance at divisional/departmental weekly and monthly conferences is expected. Involvement in research, committees, developing and maintain policy and procedures is encouraged. The candidate will serve as a resource on end-stage liver disease and liver transplantationto internal and external health care providers. The NP/PA is responsible for direct patient care, documentation of care delivered, adherence to hospital and nursing policies, procedures and practice standards, education of patients and staff, assurance of service excellence, completion of state and hospital required reviews of practice and participation in performance and quality improvement and other activities as required. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary Transplant Team including MD, APP, Social Workers, Dieticians, and RNs.Strong clinical and communication skills required.

Nurse Practitioner
Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant
Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
