Job Summary:
The medical assistant has the responsibility to perform the clinical duties essential to the operations of the Magnolia Women's Center. In addition, the medical assistant will provide quality practical care to all clinic patients under the direction of the physicians.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
Must have current CPR certification. State certification as a medical assistant preferred.
Experience:
One year of healthcare/medical assistant experience required. Competence in phlebotomy technique preferred. Knowledge of general office duties required.
Language/Communication Skills:
English required. Multilingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional.
Mathematical Skills:
Skills in adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers. Skill in computing ratios, rates and percentages,
Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff. Critical thinking and multitasking skills are a must. Must have reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do. Must possess purposeful, self-regulatory judgment which results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, criteriological, or contextual considerations upon which that judgment is based.
