This position requires a dedication to onsite, face-to-face consultations at our facility in Paterson, NJ. The work schedule involves approximately 40–45 hours weekly, typically from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility for patient needs and occasional on-call responsibilities. Conduct thorough nephrology evaluations, including complete medical histories and physical examinations tailored to pediatric patients.
Order and assess laboratory tests, imaging studies, and kidney biopsies that are crucial for accurately diagnosing and monitoring kidney diseases.
Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans that encompass medication management, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle modifications to enhance patient health.
Oversee the management of chronic kidney disease in pediatric patients, utilizing evidence-based practices to slow disease progression.
Collaborate with pediatricians, urologists, and other specialists to ensure seamless patient care across the healthcare continuum.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding kidney health, treatment options, and necessary lifestyle changes.
Engage in research and clinical trials, contributing to the advancement of nephrology through evidence-based practices and quality improvement projects.
Maintain meticulous medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
As a Pediatric Nephrologist, you will primarily care for children with a variety of kidney conditions, including chronic kidney disease, congenital abnormalities, hypertension, and urinary tract disorders. Understanding the unique challenges faced by young patients and their families is essential, as your work will directly influence their long-term health and development. Each patient interaction provides an opportunity to make meaningful improvements in their lives while educating families about kidney health.
A Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Nephrology.
A valid and active medical license for the state of New Jersey.
Extensive knowledge and experience in diagnosing and managing pediatric kidney diseases, alongside proficiency in dialysis and renal transplantation.
Excellent communication skills with an ability to connect with young patients and their families in a compassionate manner.
