Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite within our hospital's specialized pain management department. You will be working in a state-of-the-art facility with access to the latest medical technology and tools. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, primary care physicians, and mental health specialists, is an integral part of our approach to holistic patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations to determine the nature and extent of patients' pain symptoms.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic techniques including imaging studies and other tests to accurately diagnose chronic pain disorders.
• Administer interventional pain management procedures such as epidural injections, facet joint injections, and nerve blocks to provide immediate relief.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that may incorporate pharmacological management, including opioids and non-opioid medications.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed, ensuring that pain management plans evolve with patient outcomes.
• Provide patient education on various pain management techniques, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies to empower individuals in managing their conditions.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care is delivered, focusing on pain alleviation and functional restoration.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve patients experiencing chronic pain conditions as well as acute pain related to injuries and surgeries. This includes individuals with musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, and cancer-related pain, each requiring a tailored approach to treatment. You will engage with a diverse patient population, ensuring an inclusive practice that respects the unique circumstances and backgrounds of each individual.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school with a strong academic record.
• Board certification or eligibility in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
• A valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in California.
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in conducting interventional procedures relevant to pain management.
• Strong analytical skills in developing comprehensive pain management protocols that address both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches.

Preferred Experience

While previous experience in pain management or interventional pain treatments is preferred, motivated new graduates with a keen interest in pain medicine will also be considered. Specialization in advanced pain management interventions such as spinal cord stimulation and advanced imaging techniques is advantageous. Additionally, any fellowships in Pain Medicine or Interventional Pain Management would be a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a highly competitive salary range of $250,000 to $300,000 per year, complemented by performance-based incentives that reward clinical excellence.
