Metromed Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Internal Medicine Physician to join our comprehensive primary care team in Henderson, Nevada. Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility, providing a dynamic work environment where physicians can engage with patients face-to-face. The internal medicine section operates in a well-equipped facility designed to foster teamwork and efficient patient care. The work schedule is structured for work-life balance, with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing physicians to enjoy the vibrant community of Henderson.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and provide treatment for various medical conditions, documenting findings accurately in patient records.
• Review and interpret lab tests and diagnostic imaging to develop appropriate follow-up care plans for patients.
• Educate patients on health-related topics, ensuring proper documentation of all health educational interactions.
• Coordinate referrals and consultations with specialists, monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as needed.
• Address miscellaneous medical inquiries when the Nursing Director or Medical Director is unavailable, ensuring patients receive timely responses.
• Participate in the training and mentoring of physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical students, fostering professional development within the team.
• Engage in regular provider meetings to discuss best practices, case studies, and collaborative care strategies.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities, participating in chart reviews to enhance patient care standards.
• Supervise and support the clinical activities of healthcare staff, fostering a collaborative and educational workplace.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will serve a broad and diverse patient demographic, ranging from young adults to the elderly, encompassing various socio-economic backgrounds. You will be responsible for developing tailored treatment plans that address both chronic and acute medical issues, with a strong emphasis on preventive care and patient education.

Qualifications

• A current Medical License from the Nevada Medical Board.
• Medical Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. medical school or a recognized international institution, with proof of passing the FLEX examination for foreign graduates.
• Valid Drug Enforcement Administration Registration Certification and a current DEA registration number.
• Board certification or eligibility in a primary care specialty, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional education.
• Strong knowledge of community standards of care and an understanding of evidence-based medicine.
• Exceptional skills in both verbal and written communication are essential, enabling effective patient interaction and documentation.
• A demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and external agencies.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, which includes handling diverse populations and complex medical cases.
• Experience in a primary care or urgent care environment is highly desirable.
