Work Environment

This position is onsite at our Springfield facility, allowing you to engage directly with patients in a personal and comfortable setting. You will be part of a team that collaborates to deliver advanced treatments and services, promoting a culture of excellence in patient care. The work schedule is flexible, generally spanning 40-45 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with options for on-call responsibilities as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough nephrology evaluations and detailed medical histories for patients with chronic kidney disease and other renal conditions.
• Order and accurately interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and kidney biopsies to diagnose and manage kidney diseases effectively.
• Develop and execute personalized treatment plans to aid patients, which may include medication adjustments, lifestyle interventions, and renal diet modifications.
• Monitor the progression of chronic kidney disease and initiate appropriate interventions to preserve kidney function and improve overall health.
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with primary care physicians, urologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Provide education to patients and their families about kidney disease, treatment modalities, and lifestyle changes to promote long-term health.
• Participate in ongoing research, clinical trials, and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to advancements in nephrology.
• Maintain meticulous medical records and documentation, adhering to best practices in coding and billing to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population includes individuals living with chronic kidney conditions, hypertension, and various glomerular diseases. You will manage acute and chronic cases, providing care that is tailored to each patient’s unique health needs. The concierge medicine model allows for longer appointment times and a deeper relationship with patients, ensuring they receive the focused care required for effective kidney management.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in Nephrology is required.
• Active medical license to practice in the state of Illinois.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and treating kidney-related conditions, including experience with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and renal disease management.
• Proficient in managing dialysis patients and renal transplant evaluations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster meaningful relationships with patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in concierge medicine or private practice is preferred, as is a strong background in managing renal transplant patients and involvement in clinical research initiatives.
