Key Responsibilities

• Deliver thorough trauma patient care, beginning with precise assessment and resuscitation through to surgical interventions and comprehensive postoperative management.
• Execute critical surgical procedures including emergency laparotomies, thoracotomies, and orthopedic trauma surgeries, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with specialists across disciplines, addressing complex cases and ensuring seamless transitions for patients requiring specialized interventions.
• Engage actively in trauma rounds and case conferences, contributing to discussions that enhance clinical practice and train future medical professionals.
• Participate in research, quality improvement projects, and protocol development initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in trauma care delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will be on critically injured patients, ranging from those involved in serious accidents to victims of violence, each requiring immediate and precise medical attention. Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of an accredited residency program in General Surgery.
• Active and unrestricted board certification in General Surgery.
• Completion of fellowship training in Trauma Surgery or substantial experience in a Level I Trauma Center setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in performing trauma surgical procedures, including complex and life-saving interventions.
• Strong clinical judgement and the ability to operate under high-pressure circumstances.
• Exceptional communication skills for effective teamwork and patient interaction.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a leadership role within a trauma setting, contributing to departmental development and clinical best practices.
