This onsite role will be based in our state-of-the-art hospital facility located in Yonkers, creating an ideal setting for comprehensive patient care. The practice environment is progressive and fosters collaboration among healthcare professionals. The team is committed to patient-centered care, ensuring that every medical decision is focused on the best interests of our patients. This role offers a structured work schedule, typically Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with an annual commitment of 40 to 45 hours per week, allowing for flexibility to meet patient needs and accommodate occasional on-call duties.
Conduct thorough nephrology evaluations including detailed medical history taking and physical examinations to assess patients’ kidney health.
Order and meticulously interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and kidney biopsies to diagnose and monitor a range of kidney diseases.
Develop tailored treatment plans for patients focused on medication management, diet modifications, and referrals to supplementary specialists as needed.
Oversee the management of chronic kidney disease, implementing necessary interventions to slow disease progression and manage symptoms effectively.
Collaborate with primary care physicians, urologists, and nephrology specialists to establish a comprehensive care approach for patients.
Educate patients and their families on all aspects of kidney disease management, treatment options available, and lifestyle changes necessary for better health.
Engage in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives, aiming to enhance nephrological knowledge and patient care standards.
Maintain precise and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards for patient documentation.
The Nephrologist will work with a diverse patient population experiencing a variety of kidney-related issues, including chronic kidney disease, glomerular diseases, hypertension, and patients requiring dialysis or renal transplants. Our focus is on delivering individualized, compassionate care that addresses the medical and emotional needs of our patients and their families, making it imperative for our physicians to exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must hold a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution.
Board certification or eligibility in Nephrology is required.
Possession of an active state medical license and a clear ability to practice medicine in New York.
Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and managing kidney diseases, including chronic kidney disease and hypertension.
Proficiency in overseeing dialysis patients and renal transplant cases.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting are crucial.
A strong commitment to patient-centered care and improving overall patient outcomes is a must.
Experience in an academic or research-oriented nephrology practice is highly desirable.
Involvement in quality improvement projects or clinical trials related to nephrology will be considered an asset.
