Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for elderly residents to assess their mental health conditions and needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor personalized treatment plans that reflect the complexities of geriatric mental health.
• Provide expert medication management, carefully considering potential interactions with other medications typically prescribed to seniors.
• Work collaboratively with caregivers, nursing staff, and therapists to ensure a comprehensive approach to each resident's care.
• Offer supportive therapy and psychoeducation to residents and their families, addressing their concerns and enhancing understanding of treatment options.
• Stay engaged in ongoing education and training in geriatric psychiatry best practices to remain current with evolving treatment methods.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The residents we serve are primarily seniors facing various mental health challenges, including cognitive disorders such as dementia, anxiety, and mood disorders. Your role as a psychiatrist will be crucial in providing specialized care tailored to each individual's unique background and medical history. Qualifications

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree with a specialization in Psychiatry from an accredited institution.
• Valid and unrestricted license to practice psychiatry in the state of Texas.
• Strong understanding of mental health issues specific to the geriatric population.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in geriatric psychiatry or a related healthcare setting is preferred.

• Familiarity with the Meditech or EMR systems used in tracking patient progress and treatment effectiveness.

Compensation and Benefits
