Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations to assess the mental health condition of residents, considering their unique life histories and medical backgrounds.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at addressing the complexities of geriatric mental health challenges, ensuring individual needs are met.
• Provide expert medication management, monitoring potential interactions with pre-existing medications and adjusting treatments based on residents' responses.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including caregivers, nursing staff, and therapeutic professionals, to ensure an integrated and coordinated approach to resident care.
• Offer supportive therapy sessions and psychoeducation to residents and their families, empowering them to understand and navigate their mental health journeys.
• Engage in ongoing education and training to stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in geriatric psychiatry, thereby enhancing the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is to serve the elderly population, many of whom face significant mental health challenges such as dementia, depression, anxiety, and complex mood disorders. Our residents rely on the support of skilled professionals like you to help navigate these transitions, offering them dignity and respect throughout their care. Your expert input will be vital in fostering a sense of safety and comfort while addressing their mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a specialization in Psychiatry from an accredited institution.
• Possession of an active and unrestricted state licensure to practice as a Psychiatrist.
• A strong understanding of the mental health challenges faced specifically by elderly individuals.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of one year of experience in geriatric psychiatry or a closely related setting is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care solutions.
• Experience in developing individualized care plans that adapt to the changing needs of older adults.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $180,000 to $210,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
