Work Environment

The work setting is primarily in a vibrant outpatient office environment located in Avalon, CA. Although the clinic typically operates in a quiet to moderate noise level, staff members may occasionally encounter situations requiring adherence to Universal Precautions due to exposure to bodily fluids or potential pathogens. Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of our medical team, you will:

• Provide high-quality primary care services, addressing both wellness and acute health issues for pediatric patients efficiently and empathetically.
• Ensure all medical practices align with established quality standards, enhancing overall patient safety and satisfaction.
• Conduct routine medical procedures, including documentation of medical notes, review and interpretation of laboratory results, and management of patient communication.
• Coordinate care with external healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive medical decision-making.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at providing the best possible care.
• Contribute to community health by participating in policy initiatives and outreach projects to enhance service access.
• Assist with patient transfers to emergency facilities and arrange hospital admissions when necessary.
• Educate families about health issues and provide consultation aimed at promoting long-term wellness.
• Participate in the clinic’s on-call schedule and Saturday clinics as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Administrative Medical Director.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role emphasizes a strong commitment to serving a diverse patient population, particularly focusing on pediatric patients from underserved backgrounds. You will play a critical role in improving health literacy and outcomes among children in the community, ensuring that every family feels heard and supported in their healthcare journeys.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree, along with a valid California medical license.
• Board certification in Pediatrics is strongly preferred.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience practicing pediatric medicine, particularly in a community health clinic or similar environment.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including immigrant families and low-income patients, is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

The Pediatrician role offers a competitive salary ranging from $220,000 to $300,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
