Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations to diagnose acute and chronic pain conditions, utilizing both traditional and innovative assessment techniques.
• Administer and perform interventional procedures such as nerve blocks, epidural injections, and joint injections in a controlled, safe environment.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating both pharmacological and non-invasive therapies based on patient-specific requirements.
• Establish collaborative care pathways by working alongside physical therapists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment outcomes.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress in electronic health records (EHR), adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to improve care efficacy.
• Keep abreast of advancements in pain management techniques and therapies to continuously enhance patient care methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve working with a diverse group of patients suffering from various pain conditions—ranging from post-surgical recovery pain to chronic conditions like fibromyalgia and arthritis. You will have the responsibility to educate patients on pain management strategies, offering both physical and emotional support throughout their journey to recovery. Our focus is on personalized care, addressing not only the physical aspects of pain but also the psychological impact it has on our patients' lives.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification or eligibility in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), or Neurology.
• An active and unrestricted medical license in Maryland, with eligibility for licensure if currently out of state.
• Demonstrated proficiency in performing modern interventional pain management procedures.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients are essential.
• A thorough understanding of minimally invasive pain management techniques and opioid-sparing treatment strategies.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a multidisciplinary pain management setting is highly preferred, as it underscores the importance of collaborative care.
• Experience with patient education, especially in chronic pain counseling and treatment adherence, will be advantageous to our team.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems to ensure accurate documentation and patient tracking.
