Work Environment

This position is a full-time, W-2 role at our onsite facility, integrated with telehealth support to enhance patient accessibility. You will engage in a work-life balance typical of a 40–50 hour weekly schedule and participate in an equitable on-call rotation, ensuring comprehensive patient management. Key Responsibilities

• Execute complex surgical procedures, including but not limited to coronary artery bypass grafting, thoracic aortic surgery, and valve replacements, utilizing the latest minimally invasive techniques when appropriate.
• Engage in collaborative decision-making with referring physicians and cardiologists, ensuring seamless continuity of care from diagnosis through recovery.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of patient medical histories, perform physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests to assess candidacy for surgical intervention.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that encompass preoperative assessments, surgical procedures, and postoperative care to promote the best possible outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing clinical research activities, contributing to trials and medical conferences to remain informed about current advancements in cardiovascular surgery.
• Provide mentorship to residents, fellows, and medical students, cultivating a culture of learning and professional growth within our department.
• Collaborate dynamically with a multidisciplinary team that includes cardiologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and perfusionists to ensure comprehensive patient management.

As a Cardiothoracic Surgeon, you will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals suffering from a spectrum of cardiovascular diseases ranging from coronary artery disease to congenital heart defects. Qualifications

• M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) or D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) from an accredited institution.

• A valid medical license to practice in New York State.
• Proven surgical experience in performing a comprehensive range of cardiovascular procedures and interventions.

Compensation and Benefits
