Job Description

The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at Carty Eye - Center for Advanced Eye Care. In this key front desk position, you’ll create a positive, professional, and welcoming experience from the moment someone walks through the door. You’ll assist with new patient registration, verify insurance, collect co-pays, manage check-in and check-out, and help triage visitor needs to the appropriate team member.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check in patients and visitors with a friendly and professional attitude
  • Complete new patient registration, verifying demographics and insurance information
  • Collect co-pays and scan required documents into the electronic health record
  • Communicate provider delays and coordinate with clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow
  • Handle check-out, schedule follow-ups, and support patient satisfaction through timely service
  • Contact patients to confirm or reschedule their appointments.
  • Assist patients over the phone by scheduling their next appointment and resolving their questions.
  • Maintain front desk cleanliness and follow HIPAA guidelines
  • Resolve patient concerns with attention and care, coordinating with internal teams when needed
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior customer service experience required; healthcare or medical office preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment
  • Comfortable working with computers and electronic medical records
