Work Environment

As a Medical Technologist, you will collaborate with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, including lab technicians and pathologists. Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Technologist at Astra Technology Lab, you will:

• Evaluate the acceptability of specimens for testing, adhering strictly to established criteria to ensure valid results.
• Execute a range of routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to maintain optimal functioning and reliability.
• Utilize your technical expertise to make sound decisions regarding testing methodologies and resolve any issues that arise.
• Prepare, evaluate, and test new reagents or controls to ensure quality assurance in testing processes.
• Compile and report test results accurately and promptly, contributing directly to informed patient care decisions.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control measures to uphold laboratory accreditation standards.
• Manage the supply chain by identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist in specimen processing as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
• Promote a safe workplace by adhering to safety protocols and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
• A valid state license as a Medical Technologist under the provisions of Chapter 483.
• Licensure in specific specialties such as Microbiology, Serology/Immunology, Immunohematology, Clinical Chemistry, and/or Hematology based on departmental requirement.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with healthcare teams and patients.
• Proficient computer skills to navigate laboratory information systems and reporting software.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of current experience in a fast-paced clinical laboratory setting, particularly in the specialties pertinent to our practice, will be prioritized. Experience with Lean methodologies or quality improvement initiatives in laboratory settings is also desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 – 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, our benefits package includes:
