Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the needs of students with diverse special needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and methodologies.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s unique emotional and developmental challenges, emphasizing integration into the school community.
• Provide direct clinical services through evidence-based therapeutic interventions suited for ASD, learning disabilities, ADHD, and other behavioral disorders.
• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions that promote emotional regulation, develop coping strategies, and advance personal growth among students.
• Collaborate closely with educators and other professionals, such as speech and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to student care.
• Offer immediate crisis intervention and support to students experiencing mental health emergencies, ensuring a rapid response to each situation.
• Engage in psychoeducation, equipping students and their families with essential knowledge about mental health conditions and the resources available for support.
• Maintain detailed documentation and progress notes adhering to legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuous staff training to foster professional collaboration and improve service delivery.

Your primary focus will be on students within the educational sector who require specialized mental health support due to conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and trauma history. Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A valid and current LCSW license in the state of Georgia.
• A comprehensive understanding of mental health disorders, particularly those relevant to children and adolescents, is essential.
• Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments, formulating diagnoses, and developing treatment plans that are effective and culturally sensitive.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, allowing for effective interactions with students, families, and other professionals.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, particularly in school-based mental health services.
• Experience delivering therapy tailored to children and adolescents, with particular expertise in group therapy techniques.
• Adeptness in using electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage patient records and documentation.
• Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Care principles and their application in therapeutic settings.
