Licensed Mental Health Therapist – Full-time, Remote Position

Position Overview

Larson Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team. Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance while still being part of a collaborative team focused on improving mental health outcomes. The work schedule typically runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with some flexibility to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that consider the unique experiences and backgrounds of our patients, using culturally sensitive practices to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are tailored to meet the individual needs of patients, ensuring their cultural and personal contexts are genuinely respected.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address various mental health challenges, aiming to enhance resilience and overall well-being.
• Work in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, high-quality care that addresses all aspects of a patient’s needs.
• Provide crisis intervention services to ensure that patients receive immediate support during mental health emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment methodologies, ensuring they are equipped with knowledge of available community resources.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards, safeguarding patient information.
• Participate actively in case conferences, team meetings, and cultural competency training to foster an integrated team approach.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in mental health therapy to continuously improve the quality of care provided to our patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic specializes in serving individuals from diverse backgrounds, including ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant populations. Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of a current and valid license as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
• A profound understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment approaches, and cultural competence in therapeutic practices.
• Demonstrated experience providing both individual and group therapy using culturally responsive methods.
• Strong crisis intervention abilities and a capacity to calmly handle challenging situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate rapport building across a diverse clientele.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and office software to maintain efficient documentation and patient management.
• A strong commitment to ethical guidelines, confidentiality, and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a community health setting where culturally diverse populations are served.
• Advanced certifications or training in evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
• Direct experience in crisis intervention services.
• Proficiency in additional languages to further enhance communication with patients.

Compensation and Benefits
