Larson Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to become a valuable member of our integrated care team in Chandler, Arizona. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Larson Counseling Center, you will:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental health and substance use issues, actively identifying co-occurring disorders to tailor individualized treatment plans.
Collaborate closely with clients to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that harness evidence-based interventions addressing both mental health and substance use challenges.
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focusing on coping mechanisms, relapse prevention strategies, and emotional regulation skills, guiding clients toward recovery.
Engage in continuous coordination with an interdisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists to ensure a well-rounded and integrated treatment approach.
Perform regular substance use monitoring and utilize motivational interviewing techniques to enhance client engagement and support them through their recovery journeys.
Educate clients and their families about the interconnectedness of mental health and substance use disorders and promote the significance of treatment adherence.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and treatment interventions in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Actively participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and training programs to further enhance your expertise in treating co-occurring disorders and improve overall client care.
You will work primarily with a diverse population of adult clients facing complex behavioral health issues stemming from the interplay of mental health conditions and substance use disorders. Your interventions will be crucial in breaking the cycle of these co-occurring disorders, leading individuals toward recovery and improved quality of life.
A Master's or higher degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
A current and valid licensure (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) in the state of Arizona.
Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies for treating co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Sound understanding of the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Experience in outpatient mental health settings working with diverse populations is highly valued. Familiarity with integrated care models and previous engagement in behavioral health or substance use programming will enhance your capability to thrive in this position.
