Dynamic Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Special Education - Remote

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our innovative Special Education Program. Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexible work-life integration. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams virtually, harnessing technology to provide accessibility and adaptability in mental health services. While the regular work schedule typically runs Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, there may be occasional evening shifts or weekend coverage as needed to ensure our students receive the support they require, including on-call responsibilities during mental health emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify the needs of students with diverse special needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to address students' mental health and emotional needs.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions for a variety of mental health challenges, including ASD, ADHD, and trauma-related issues.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on personal growth, emotional regulation, and effective coping strategies.
• Collaborate with educators, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to provide holistic care for students.
• Offer crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies to stabilize and support students.
• Provide psychoeducation for students and their families, equipping them with resources and strategies to manage mental health concerns.
• Ensure accurate and compliant documentation of services rendered, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
• Participate actively in team meetings and case conferences to discuss ongoing cases and share insights.
• Stay current with relevant mental health legislation, regulations, and ethical guidelines to inform clinical practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be on students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum, as well as individuals with learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and ADHD. Understanding the unique challenges faced by each of these populations is essential in delivering effective interventions that align with each student's personal journey and educational goals.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A valid and current LCSW licensure in the state of New York.
• Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments and formulating comprehensive treatment plans.
• Strong familiarity with trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a capacity for working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively.
• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health role, particularly in a special education or school setting.
• Experience in providing both individual and group therapy to children and adolescents.
• A sound understanding of the special education landscape and relevant regulatory frameworks.
