Licensed Mental Health Counselor - Remote Opportunity

Position Overview

South West Mental Health Service is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team, providing essential mental health support to our clients. This full-time role is primarily remote but will also involve collaboration from our outpatient office located in Richmond, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain an active caseload of clients, building trust and rapport while adhering to professional ethics and boundaries.
• Conduct regular sessions with clients to discuss therapy goals, progress, and any necessary adjustments in treatment interventions.
• Design, implement, and oversee personalized, client-centered treatment plans that reflect the unique needs of each individual.
• Document and maintain detailed progress notes for each client, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Execute intake assessments to establish client eligibility and treatment requirements.
• Provide weekly individual therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to facilitate healing and personal growth.
• Engage in professional supervision and peer consultation to enhance clinical skills and therapeutic effectiveness.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals across disciplines, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive client care.
• Adopt a growth mindset, striving for personal development while attending to the evolving needs of clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will possess a strong focus on youth and adolescents, understanding the distinct challenges they face in mental health. You will work with a diverse clientele, providing support for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral problems. Your work will play a crucial role in promoting resilience and positive change in these young individuals, contributing to their overall well-being and development.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in mental health counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia.
• Must meet internal credentialing criteria for relevant clinical environments.
• A minimum of one year of experience working with psychiatric patients and/or substance-abuse populations.
• Experience conducting assessments, diagnosis, and providing both individual and group therapy.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, including experience with electronic health records and document management.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience specializing in youth counseling is preferred.
• Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatment modalities is advantageous.
• Experience in collaborative treatment planning and interdisciplinary approaches to care.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive compensation ranging from $65,000 to $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, you will enjoy a variety of benefits including:
