Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations to assess clients' psychological, emotional, and behavioral health status during initial consultations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and intervention plans for clients, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing diverse therapeutic modalities suited to the varied needs of clients.
• Continuously monitor clients' progress towards goals outlined in their treatment plans, adjusting strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with other mental health professionals, including conducting joint case reviews and coordinating care plans.
• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians to ensure that clients requiring hospitalization receive comprehensive post-discharge mental health support.
• Identify risk factors and behavioral challenges that might hinder client recovery, implementing early intervention strategies to prevent setbacks.
• Empower family members and caregivers with tools and strategies to support individuals facing mental and behavioral health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Medina Counseling Center, you will work with a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from children to adults, each facing diverse challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and family-related issues. Your role will be crucial in fostering a supportive environment conducive to healing and recovery.

Qualifications

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Arizona.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, for efficient documentation and case management.
• Proficient understanding of co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions and addiction disorders is essential.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, with significant clinical insight and practical experience in delivering therapeutic interventions.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical standards.
• Knowledge of the pharmacological effects of medications commonly prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role is competitive, ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, with additional incentives such as a signing bonus.
