Work Environment

This role offers a fully remote work setting, allowing for flexibility in your schedule while facilitating meaningful connections with clients through virtual meetings. Our outpatient office serves a diverse clientele, ensuring that our team members have the resources and support necessary to provide excellent mental health care. As part of a collaborative team of professionals, you will engage with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive client care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, collecting essential information that informs treatment plans.
• Develop and implement personalized intervention strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring effective communication of treatment expectations.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Monitor client progress consistently throughout the treatment process, adapting care plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care interventions.
• Provide follow-up care and resources for clients who have been hospitalized, ensuring a smooth transition back to outpatient services.
• Assist clients and their families in recognizing and preventing behaviors that could hinder recovery, fostering a supportive atmosphere for growth.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Alameda Psychotherapy Services, our client population is diverse in terms of age, background, and the nature of their mental health challenges. Counselors will engage with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction disorders, and relationship issues. Our tailored approach ensures that clients receive specialized care suited to their unique circumstances and needs.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• A strong foundation in mental health counseling practices, informed by current trends and research.
• Proficiency using electronic health record systems with a preference for familiarity with AVATAR.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor in outpatient settings.
• Experience addressing complex mental health issues, including co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions.
• Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical standards.

Compensation and Benefits
