Licensed Mental Health Counselor - Mindfulness Specialist

Position Overview

Option Care Counseling Center is actively seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team in Gresham, Oregon. In this role, you will leverage evidence-based mindfulness techniques to assist clients in overcoming their mental health challenges, fostering resilience, and promoting personal growth. You will be an essential part of our outpatient office, which focuses on delivering high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

Work Environment

This position offers a remote work setting, allowing you to provide essential services from the comfort of your home while still engaging with clients through virtual platforms. Our outpatient office is designed to foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere for both clients and therapists, ensuring that the work environment promotes mental well-being and growth for all involved. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility to accommodate client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver mindfulness-based interventions, including structured MBSR programs, to clients seeking to reduce anxiety and enhance their well-being.
• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to identify stressors and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to individual goals.
• Guide clients through mindfulness exercises, including breathwork and meditation practices, to foster self-awareness and emotional balance.
• Facilitate engaging group workshops centered around mindfulness, stress management, and resilience-building techniques.
• Incorporate mindfulness into individual therapy sessions to effectively address clients' specific mental health issues.
• Team up with other mental health professionals and healthcare providers to create a holistic treatment approach that integrates mindfulness practices.
• Maintain meticulous and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, therapeutic interventions, and treatment outcomes.
• Engage in ongoing personal mindfulness practice and seek professional development opportunities to deepen expertise in mindfulness-based approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve working with a diverse range of individuals seeking help for various mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other stress-related disorders. Clients may range from adolescents to adults, ensuring a varied caseload where you can apply your skills in mindfulness to aid in their healing journeys.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Oregon.
• Strong foundation in mindfulness practices, with preferred training in MBSR or similar methodologies.
• Exceptional communication skills that foster a sense of trust and safety within the therapeutic relationship.
• Ability to create a calming and supportive environment that facilitates client engagement and reflection.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a clinical setting providing therapy with an emphasis on mindfulness and holistic healing approaches.
• Knowledge of integrating technology into therapy, including telehealth platforms and online resources.
• Experience leading group therapy sessions and community workshops.

Compensation and Benefits
