Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments that consider each patient's medical history and current medical conditions.
• Developing and implementing integrated treatment plans aimed at addressing both psychiatric and medical concerns through evidence-based therapies.
• Providing one-on-one and group therapy sessions that are customized to suit individual patient needs, utilizing therapeutic techniques that foster growth and recovery.
• Coordinating with medical providers to ensure a holistic approach to treatment that optimizes health outcomes.
• Offering crisis intervention support, facilitating immediate assistance to patients experiencing mental health emergencies.
• Educating patients on the connection between their mental health and physical wellbeing, empowering them to take charge of their health.
• Maintaining thorough and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance in all record-keeping.
• Participating in regular team meetings and case conferences to enhance collaborative care planning.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus on serving a diverse patient population in Yakima, including individuals with mental health challenges that coexist with various medical conditions such as autoimmune disorders and chronic pain. Understanding the intricate relationship between these health issues is essential for delivering effective, personalized care.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Washington State.
• Demonstrated experience in providing support to individuals with co-occurring mental and medical conditions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate engagement with patients and collaboration with team members.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards while ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications relevant to mental health practices.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
